Tactile Motion

This project reinterprets the pixel icons of Susan Kare through a tactile, handmade process. I recreated several of her pixel artworks by gluing rhinestones onto paper, with each rhinestone functioning as a physical “pixel.” The finished pieces were photographed frame by frame and compiled into GIFs, translating the textured analog creations back into digital motion and highlighting the relationship between early computer graphics and handmade materiality.
